MY MOM ON MY RABBITS AND I: And you are wonderful with
animals - maybe you still need to be a vet? And you also take in unwanted
rabbits, don't you? It must have been all those Beatrix Potter books, Peter
Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny that's inspired you - proud of you and Matt for
raising cute bunnies. They make great indoor pets - remember McGregor, he used
to use a litter box indoors and sit on the fireplace so quiet no-one thought he
was real.

Here at our rabbitry we must go by ARBA standards as members and registered breeders. There is no laws regarding the minimum sale in Georgia of rabbit kits, however, the standard and recognized age to sell a rabbit kit is 8 weeks and under no circumstances can we release a kit under the age of 8 weeks, We sell Holland Lops, Netherlands, and Lionheads. We do not have pedigrees with our Lionheads and they are only pet quality. Most breeders do not pass out pedigrees to rabbits that are only pets, and we as a new rabbitry from this day forward in August 2013 will be adopting the same policy. The only way to obtain a pedigree is if you are purchasing a rabbit for breeding or show purposes, or pay a substantial fee. If you are a breeder or with 4-H we must obtain some proof like a website, references, or contact for a 4-H leader to substantiate that the rabbits are going to good homes. Breeders and show enthusiats should take care of our rabbits just as much as a loving pet owner, they are not to be used for meat or be resold to a irrepsonsible owner you must return our rabbits if you can no longer care for them. I take in Rescue rabbits regularly and won't tolerate mistreatment of rabbits.
When you come to pick up a rabbit, if you do not have a carrier or cage to put it in for the drive home please purchase a small box from your local grocery or walmart, place hay in the bottom and punch holes in lid or folding tops so their is new air coming in. If you do not bring a box, I can provide you a box but will give you a lecture so spare yourself. Your rabbit can get injured on the ride home, and as a new pet owner or breeder to one of our rabbits.... this is your first step to being responsible
Reserving a unweaned kit (baby):
You must place a deposit of which amount I specifiy (it is usually a 50% calculated percentage of the total cost of the rabbit, no deposit, no holding.
Once the rabbit is fully weaned I will directly contact you to inform you that you must pick up your rabbit within the week to the day it is weaned. Ex (Bun weaned on January 16th, must be picked up by January 23rd) unless arrangements have been made such as transport out of state or to a show.
If you would like to purchase a Breeding/Show Quality Mini Lop, Holland Lop, or Netherland Dwarf from us this is not possible until the kits are at least 12 weeks of age. I am very finicky about which I deem Show/Breeding Quality but when I do, they will be ready for homes and it will be first come first serve. If you pay for your rabbit in full then I will hold it for a week unless transport has to be arranged. Transport must be arranged before paying for any show/breeding rabbits.
Before you purchase a rabbit, I must ask that you read up on as much information as possible from multiple sources. There is alot of false information on the internet when it comes to rabbits and it would be preferred that you look at ARBA recognized books our articles rather than google.com or ask.com.
EVALUATIONS ARE BASED ON MY OPINION OF WHAT A HOLLAND, NETHERLAND, LIONHEAD, AND MINI LOP ARE SUPPOSE TO LOOK LIKE. EVERYONE INTERPRETS THE SOP DIFFERENTLY. TO ALL THOSE BUYING STOCK (WHETHER HERE OR SOMEWHERE ELSE) PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU SHOULD GO BY YOUR INTERPRETATIONS OF THE SOP AND NOT A JUDGES OR OTHER SHOW ENTHUSIASTS OPINION, HOWEVER, IF THERE IS CONSISTENCY SUCH AS SLIPPED CROWN OR LONG SHOULDERS THAT YOU CONSISTENTLY HERE FROM ALL JUDGES THEN YOU CAN BE REST ASSURED YOUR RABBIT DOES IN FACT HAVE THIS FAULT. SOME FAULTS HOWEVER DO NOT MAKE A RABBIT UNBREEDABLE, BUT PLEASE BE CAREFUL THAT YOU UNDERSTAND WHICH TRAITS ARE TO HARD TO BREED OUT EVEN IF YOU HAVE A BUCK OR DOE TO COUNTERBALANCE THE FAULT.
These prices fluctuate and are just guidelines to show future pet/breeding customers what are price ranges are. We can change these prices at any time or set a specific price for a rabbit that isn't within these parameters.
All rabbits sold are given a care sheet, med sheet, bag of transition feed, and if show or brood quality (a tattoo in left ear that we choose that matches their pedigree). A bill of sale will be filled out by myself and the new purchaser if I issue a pedigree or the rabbit is going for breeding or showing pursposes. This is for my records.

If a rabbit is being sold as Show Quality, I must be able to keep the rabbit kit until 12 weeks of age. I evaluate each rabbit kit at 8 weeks and then again at 12 weeks. I do not cull at my rabbitry, so if a rabbit isn't to standard I simply sell it as pet quality only and it will be listed as such as soon as it is evaluated.
Please do not create a pedigree for your rabbit or give our pedigree to another buyer with a rabbit that is not from our rabbitry. If we know this has happened we will contact the ARBA. And to anyone reading this that has done so in the past, you will be caught eventually when someone follows up on the rabbits you list on a pedigree there will always be a mistake or inconsistency.
